Mountain Retreat 2021 | Bohinj, Slovenia

A small weekend house on the shore of Lake Bohinj, replacing a dilapidated post-war cabin. The new structure follows the footprint of the original and is built entirely from local spruce, inside and out. A large sliding wall on the lake side dissolves the boundary between interior and landscape. The house is off-grid, heated by a wood stove, and designed to age gracefully alongside its forest setting.
